The encounter weekend is a time to get away from the schedules and demands of our daily lives to spend time focused in on our relationship with God. It's about 30 hours in duration, from Friday night to Saturday night, on a weekend in March. Participants participate in worship, reading The Word, prayer, contemplation, conversation with other attenders, and hearing messages given by others on the journey of faith. It is a time to really turn and face the freedom we have because of our God and what He and His Son have done for us. Sometimes our minds move so quickly and it is a struggle to find the time to sit and really consider where and how to move the blocks that keep us from being fully alive in Christ. For many who come to the Encounter weekend God plants seeds that lead to Christ centered transformation. However, each person that comes has a unique experience, one that we believe God planned for.
The Weekend begins with supper at the Frontier building on Friday. We carpool to St. Malo and usually arrive around 8:00. We wrap things up around 8:00 Saturday night, and everyone goes home from there. No child-care is provided at during the retreat, so attendees need to make other arrangements.
Our next Encounter Weekend is March 13-14, 2009, at St. Malo Retreat Center near Estes Park. A downloadable registration form is available.
